Expert dwells on globalisation

Desh Bhagat University organised a guest lecture on ‘Globalisation - Trends and Impact’, in which a large number of students from various faculties along with their teachers participated. Vijay Kumar Gupta, who is a Central Government Standing Counsel at the Supreme Court, was the keynote speaker. Vice-Chancellor of the university Dr Shalini Gupta hoped that the students would take full benefit of his experiences.

The speaker explained to the audience how globalisation was connecting different countries and has made the world a small hub.

He said globalisation had played an important role in the progress of world economy. While giving examples, he said after industrial revolution, import and export between different countries increased rapidly and the world economy got strengthened. He said India was a fast growing economy and not even a single country couldn ignore it. Rather, every country was keen to develop business relations with it. Multinational companies have developed their business in the country and it had created a lot of opportunities of employment.

It was followed by a range of queries by students to which the speaker aptly replied. The students were quite happy to attend the lecture and said the session was informative. University Chancellor Dr Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Tejinder Kaur expressed the view that the university aims to prepare the students for every situation.

They added that such events were useful for their multi-dimensional growth.
