Chandigarh: On a call given by the Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS) Association, government doctors from across the state held a protest in front of the state Directorate of Health on Tuesday.

They sought a rollback of the policy to give only basic pay of Rs 15,600 to doctors for the first two years. Association head Dr GS Moga said in case of no action, all medico-legal services would be shut down on May 26

Dr Gagandeep Shergill, senior vice-president of the association, said this fight was not only for doctors but also for all categories of underpaid employees, including teachers, policemen and the clerical staff
