Visually impaired students too join the league of winners

Hemraj, a visually impaired student of Model School, has excelled in the CBSE class XII exams with 91 per cent marks in the arts stream.
 
Hailing from Chitarkoot, Hemraj, a boarder at Model School, scored 95 per cent in English, Hindi and History and 93 per cent in Sociology. 
 
 
Ram Singh from Suratgarh in Rajasthan stood second scoring 90.5 per cent. He scored 100 per cent in music. The third position was bagged by Sagar from Bokaro, Jharkhand, who scored 88 per cent while Sonia bagged the fourth position with 87.6 percent.
 
A total of 19 students, including eight girls, appeared for the class XII board examination. 
 
While speaking with the Tribune, an ecstatic Hemraj said the results have affirmed his faith in hard work, “Nothing is impossible, if you are determined and ready to work hard. I thank my teachers and the Principal for providing guidance. Now, I can hope to get admission in a good college. I hope to crack the IAS after my graduation and for this reason, I would like to get admission in a good college,” said Hemraj.
 
School principal KB Jaggi said out of 19 students, 18 students had scored 70 per cent and above. “About 18 students, who scored 70 per cent and above, will receive a scholarship of Rs 2,000 per month. This will motivate students to set higher goals for them as they enter the college life,” Jaggi said.
 
Anuradha Mohit Dalmiya, Director of the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH), of which the school is a part said the school had consistently been posting good results.
