Virbhadra pulls up PWD contractor for poor roads in Dodra Kuar

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today hit out at the PWD contractor over the poor condition of the Gosangu-Jiskoon road in Dodra-Kuar in Rohru region and asked the PWD to conduct an inquiry in this regard.

Addressing public meetings at Jiskoon and Kwar in the remote Dodra-Kwar region of the district, he directed the PWD to reconstruct the road and ensure its proper alignment and drainage. He said that road connectivity was the lifeline of hard areas and any negligence in the construction of roads would not be tolerated.

The Chief Minister directed the authorities concerned to complete all development works before winters. The government was implementing the skill development allowance scheme under which a sum of Rs 1,000 would be given to general youth and Rs 1,500 to physically challenged, he added.

The Chief Minister announced employee’s vocational training centre for the Kwar Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Dodra, upgrade of the Kwar Community Health Centre (CHC) to the Civil Hospital and asked the PWD to construct hospital, building for the Jiskoon PHC. Besides, he announced a sub-fire station at Kwar and a mini bus stand at Dhandharwari.

He said Dodra-Kwar road would be tarred by next year and the Jiskoon-Jhakha road would be constructed in six months. He declared the Photodwar- Kwar as ambulance road and said the Kwar-helipad to Chaidhar road would be tarred soon.

The Chief Minister announced upgrade of government primary schools Dhandharwari-II, Pujarli in Dodra and Bhavta to middle schools and announced playground for Dodra and a veterinary dispensary at Jaskoon.
