Virbhadra inaugurates road at Ani

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh made various announcements while addressing public gatherings at Dalash, Chowai and Ladagi villages in the Ani subdivision of the district today.

He inaugurated the road from Bakhnao (Chowai) to Dugha Shigan, completed with an outlay of Rs 2.25 crore, and flagged off bus service to Dugha. He laid the foundation stone of a Rs 1.21-crore IPH scheme at Barvi and announced upgrade of the health sub-centre to Primary Health Centre at Chowai.

He laid the foundation stone of the science block of senior secondary school at Dalash to be constructed at a cost of Rs 96.20 lakh and inaugurated 10-km-long Peri Nullah to Dawarch road completed with an outlay of Rs 2.89 crore.

He announced upgrade of the Community Health Centre at Dalash to 30-bedded hospital. He stated that the IPH subdivision and polytechnic institute would be set up at Dalash. He said the Dalash-Gungi road would be metalled. The Chief Minister announced health sub-centres at Deem and Ladagi villages.

He said the Aut-Lhuri road (via the Jalori Pass) had already been declared as a national highway and it would be reconstructed and widened as per the norms of the National Highway Authority of India. He stated that there was a proposal to construct a tunnel under the Jalori Pass to reduce distance between Ani and Kullu and make it an all-weather road.

While addressing a gathering at Ladagi village after laying the foundation stone of Government Senior Secondary School to be constructed at a cost of Rs 45 lakh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said unity was the key to development and people should stand united for deriving the benefits of development. He stressed upon providing education to girl child.
