Vice-President to attend IFS probationers convocation

DEHRADUN: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu will preside over the convocation ceremony of Indian Forest Service probationers at Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy here on Wednesday.

Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu will preside over the convocation ceremony of Indian Forest Service probationers at Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy here on Wednesday.

The convocation of 2016-18 Professional Forestry Course of IFS probationers with take place at the fabled Forest Research Institute’s convocation hall. The Vice- President will arrive at Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun in the morning. He will return to Delhi immediately after attending the ceremony. Besides addressing the probationers, the Vice-President will hand over diplomas to the IFS probationers.

Apart from the Vice-President, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr Harshvardhan will also attend the ceremony.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the Vice-President’s visit. Traffic has been diverted at a number of places and security checks have been conducted in the localities in close vicinity of the convocation venue.
