Chandigarh, March 31

Officials of the UT Administration and the Municipal Corporation today briefed the French Development Agency (FDA) about the progress of the Smart City project.

Last year, the Chandigarh Administration and the French Development Agency (AFD) had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoUs) on the Chandigarh Smart City project and ‘technical cooperation’ in the field of sustainable urban mobility.

A senior UT official said a team of FDA had met the UT officials today. The FDA will fund the Smart City project, he said.

The board of directors of the special purpose vehicle (SPV) in a meeting on Thursday had finalised a French company, Egis International, as the project management consultant for the project.

The special purpose vehicle (SPV), a joint venture between the UT Administration and the local Municipal Corporation, was to rope in a consultant to prepare estimate of the project and execute it.
