Reportedly upset over the inability of her parents to fund her higher education, 18-year-old Gurdeep Kaur allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Brahman Majra village.

Mulkh Raj, father of the deceased, in his statement to the police said his daughter had passed the Class XII exams and wanted to study further.
