Kurukshetra, May 30

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing three  cases of incendiary blasts in the Haryana public transport systems has officially confirmed these as terror attacks.

Kurukshetra SP Simardeep Singh said: “The NIA, which is probing two blasts that rocked Panipat recently, has vital clues on the perpetrators.”

The May 26 blast in a moving Haryana Roadways bus on National Highway-1 near Pipli had left eight persons injured.

There was a similar blast at the Panipat railway station on May 12. There were no casualties. On January 15, an IED was used to trigger a low-intensity blast in a train in Panipat.

Investigators said there were striking similarities in all three incidents with the perpetrators having used a chemical powder which is used in manufacturing crackers.
