Two toddlers killed as bus overturns in Kangra

Dharamsala, April 4

Two toddlers were killed and 30 others injured on Tuesday when a tourist bus overturned at Ranital, about 35 km from here, police said.

The accident occurred on Dharamsala–Chandigarh national highway in which two-year-old Gopal, son of Kalicharan and resident of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh, and one year-old Suryashi, daughter of Ravi Kumar and resident of Agra, were killed, a senior police official said.

Thirty people were also injured in the accident, and rushed to a hospital where most of them are said to be out of danger.

Police suspect that the bus overturned due to negligence or rash driving by the driver.

"The bus overturned possibly due to the driver could not negotiate the hill track or was driving rashly," Kangra Superintendent of Police S Gandhi said, adding a case was registered against the driver. — PTI
