Two special trains to Saharsa in Bihar to clear Holi rush

LUDHIANA: Northern Railway will run two special trains to Saharsa (Bihar) to cope with the rush of migrants travelling to their native places in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Ludhiana, March 23

Northern Railway will run two special trains to Saharsa (Bihar) to cope with the rush of migrants travelling to their native places in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. While 05529/30 Saharsa-Ferozepur Cantt-Saharsa will make a single trip in both directions, 05533/34 Saharsa-Ambala Cantt-Saharsa will make two trips in each direction.

Meanwhile, half a dozen long-route trains were still running behind schedule.

The 05529 Saharsa-Ferozepur Cantt Jansadharan Special Train will depart from Saharsa on March 28 at 9.40 am to reach Ferozepur Cantt at 7.40 pm the next day. In the return direction, the 05530 Ferozepur Cantt -Saharsa Jansadharan Special Train will depart from Ferozepur Cantt on March 29 at 11.30 pm to reach Saharsa at at 11.15 am the third day.

Comprising 18 general class and two second class-cum-luggage van coaches, the train will stop at Simri Bhaktiyarpur, Mansi, Khagaria, Begusarai, Barauni, Shahpur Patoree, Hajipur, Sonpur, Chhapra, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Sitapur Cantt, Bareilly, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana and Jalandhar City stations en route in both directions.

The 05533 Saharsa-Ambala Cantt Jansadharan Special train will depart from Saharsa on March 26 and 30 (two trips) at 7.00 pm to reach Ambala Cantt at 12.30 am the third day. In the return direction, the 05534 Ambala Cantt-Saharsa Jansadharan Special train will depart from Ambala Cantt on March 28 and April 1 (two trips) at 3.10 am to reach Saharsa at 9.15 am the next day.

With sixteen general class and two second class-cum-luggage van coaches, the train will have stoppages at Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Mansi, Khagaria, Hasanpur Road, Rusera Ghat, Samastipur, Laheria Sarai, Darbhanga, Kamtaul, Janakpur Road, Sitamarhi, Bairagnia, Raxaul, Sagauli, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Gorakhpur, Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Sitapur Cantt, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad and Saharanpur stations en route in both directions.

Meanwhile, the erratic run of certain long-route trains continues to haunt passengers. According to information porovided by railway officials, 12355 Rajendra Nagar (Patna)-Jammu Tawi Archna Express was delayed by 10.10 hrs, 18101 Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi by 5.50 hrs while 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express, 12357 Kolkata-Amritsar Durgiana Superfast Express, 12549 Durg-Jammu Tawi Suerpfast Express, 15209 Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa and 12238 Jammu Tawi-Varanasi Begumpura Express were running behind schedule by one or three hours causing trouble for the commuters travelling on these trains.
