The state unit of the CPI (Marxist-Leninist) has decided to fight the coming Assembly elections in alliance with other Left parties in the state.

The party at its state council meeting at Gopeshwar in Chamoli district decided to contest two seats in the Assembly poll. Rajinder Partholi, state secretary of the CPI (ML), announced Purshottam Sharma from Lal Kuan and Indresh Maikhuri from Karanprayag as two candidates.
