Dehradun, June 28

The Char Dham traffic on the Rishikesh-Yamunotri National Highway that was disrupted due to falling of rocks and boulders at Ojri Dabarkot on Thursday has been restored.

The district authorities said the area was prone to falling of debri, rocks and boulders due to heavy flow of seasonal water sources. “The men from the PWD managed to remove the debris and repair the blockade within a short span of time,” said Ashish Chauhan, District Magistrate, Uttarkashi.

Meanwhile, the South west monsoon (SWM) on Thrusday advanced to the remaining parts of Uttarakhand, thus covering the entire state, Met department said.

The department has issued an alert for June 30 and July 1, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in at isolated places in the states. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarakhand on July 2, according to the department. — TNS
