Dehradun, June 23

A day after the authorities carried out a large-scale anti-encroachment drive in the capital city, a bandh call for today given by traders evoked a poor response.

Only the markets that saw encroachments yesterday witnessed a shut down, while the other market areas of Dehradun remained open.

The Doon Udhyog Vyapaar Mandal, along with other trader organizations, had given a bandh call. They said the bandh was complete. They asserted to further intensify their agitation if the administration continued to harass traders on pretext of an anti-encroachment drive.
