Chamba, April 19

Jot, a popular high-altitude picturesque tourist spot on the Chamba-Shimla highway in Chamba district is devoid of toilets.

A visit by this reporter around the tourist spot revealed that it was surprisingly the only high-altitude tourist place where the tourists get tea, meals and vegetables on a lesser price in comparison to the other hill stations. But, lack of sanitation was a major problem here. The area around the Jot could be seen littered with filth and garbage.

The locals demand that the administration should construct toilets for the convenience of tourists. —OC
