Tiwari woos migrants, skips rally at Ldh Central

LUDHIANA: President of the Delhi unit of the BJP Manoj Tiwari today made a fervent appeal to migrant population settled here to vote wholeheartedly for the BJP-SAD candidates and make sure that the ruling coalition could score a hat-trick.

President of the Delhi unit of the BJP Manoj Tiwari today made a fervent appeal to migrant population settled here to vote wholeheartedly for the BJP-SAD candidates and make sure that the ruling coalition could score a hat-trick.

The BJP star campaigner was here to address election rallies in the Ludhiana South and Ludhiana Central constituencies which have a sizable or rather decisive population of migrants.

Seeking support of migrants for the SAD candidate Hira Singh Gabria, a former Cabinet minister, at a rally held in Giaspure, he targeted the sitting (Independent) legislator for ignoring the migrants as far as delivery of civic amenities and other facilities was concerned. He said: “Though the migrant population was often used for taking part in dharnas and protests (by the Independent legislator), they were never given an equal status or respect that was due to them.”
