Dehradun, April 27

The multi-faceted writer, actor, producer and director, Tigmanshu Dhulia, announced his upcoming project with Dehradun-based producer Om Prakash Bhatt on Tuesday.

Bhatt, the owner of Doon Group of Institutions, would be producing Dhulia’s project ‘Milan Talkies’. The shoot for the film is slated to begin by the end of the year and will be released in mid-2017.

The movie is scheduled to be shot in Allahabad and Kanpur and will feature fresh faces.

Speaking about the film, Dhulia said, “This is the first-of-its-kind project for me as the film is an out and out love story. I have done love stories in my movies but I have not done a completely dedicated love story before.”

He also announced his next project ‘Raag Desh’ on Subhash Chandra Bose’s INA trials. It is a fascinating story about why English were forced to leave India. It would be a six-hour period documentary to be aired on TV in six episodes of one hour each, he stated.

Dhulia, speaking about the production scenario in the state, lamented the lack of strong film policies. The production cost goes high owing to very high air fares. He suggested that the government produces at least two non-commercial small budgets annually and provide basic support to producers shooting in Uttarakhand.
