Three Y’nagar forest officials suspended

Conservator of Forests, Panchkula, MP Sharma has suspended three officials, including a Deputy Ranger of Yamunanagar district, in a case of illegal felling of khair trees.

In an order issued by MP Sharma on October 6, Deputy Ranger Ram Pal Singh, block in charge, Darpur, forest guard, Darpur, Satbir Singh and forest guard, Chickkan area, Surinder Singh were suspended.

Sources said several khair trees were cut down by the timber mafia from the forest areas of Darpur and Chickkan of Yamunanagar on October 1.

The matter was invested by a team of the Forest Department. Sources said the officials were suspended for negligence in performing their duty. — TNS
