Three tourists from Delhi killed in road mishap in Nainital

NAINITAL: Three tourists from Delhi were killed and two injured when a car in which they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge in the district.

Three tourists from Delhi were killed and two injured when a car in which they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge in the district.

The mishap took place last night when a Santro car carrying five tourists from Delhi fell into a 500-ft deep ditch near Gathiya village, 20 km from here, DIG Kumaun Pushkar Singh Sailal said.

Three tourists were killed on the spot and two were injured, he said.

The car was going to Ranikhet and all the five tourists were from Chhatarpur area in Delhi.

Rescue operation was initiated after the villagers informed police about the accident, the DIG said.

All bodies have been recovered and the injured rushed to hospital, he added. —PTI
