Theft at factory for 4th time in 20 days

A theft at a factory in Industrial Area, Phase II, was reported during the wee hours today, where thieves managed to decamp with brass material. This is the fourth theft has taken place at the same factory in less than 20 days. The incident was recorded on CCTV cameras. 

Sources said the theft at Nonni Enterprises, Plot 913/A, Industrial Area, Phase II, was earlier reported on March 7, March 10 and March 21, respectively. 

Sources said the sanitary items were made in the factory and the raw material (brass) had been stolen. Every time, the accused enters the factory after breaking the wall near the roof. 

Prabhjit, whose father owns the factory, said that since theft was reported repeatedly he along with the staff members decided to sleep inside the factory to ensure that theft did not take place again. “We were asleep, when four youths again broke in the factory and stole the raw material”, he said. 

Prabhjit further added that he along with the staff members came to know about it and tried to catch the accused, however, they managed to flee from the spot. “The accused jumped from the roof towards the other factory and fled in the dark”, he said. 

The complainant has alleged that their total loss was worth around Rs 2 lakh. “The theft incidents were reported to the police, however, no action was taken”, said Prabhjit. The matter is under investigation at the Sector 31 police station.
