The sultan of stage, Maniesh Paul recently made it to Chandigarh to do what he does best — anchoring! The celebrated actor-anchor was as much looking forward to hosting the first-ever Filmfare Awards Punjabi, as much to his performance on stage of a medley by none other than Diljit Dosanjh. Add to it, that he is playing lead in the remake of Jatt & Juliet 2 and it made perfect sense to be in City Beautiful.

At his effervescent best, Maniesh merrily credits his success to blessings and love of those who have appreciated his work. “My mother says whatever you do, give your best and that’s been my funda,” says the ‘priciest’ host of Indian telly. “While I absolutely love what I do, I am not into money as much. Two crores or not, it’s the work that I value; money matters are handled by my team,” he puts it straight.

Filmy front

Having done a few films, he is yet to taste success. But, he is pretty positive. Calling himself a beginner in films, Maniesh is happy to take the highs and lows in his stride. “I treat life as a train journey. I don’t want to get stuck at one station. I want to get down at every station, see how it goes; I am open to some achievements and some disappointments and believe in moving on.”

However, he is super-sure to make it big in films. “Ek Friday to hai mera,” he chuckles! Apart from telly, films, he is totally looking forward to Da-Bangg World Tour where he will have Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Badshah for company. “This is going to be super fun.”

Being together

While his decade long journey has earned him name and fame, Maniesh places much of this credit with his wife Samyukta. His school sweetheart has been a steady support right through. “We dreamt it together and are living it now.” Father to two kids, how does he manage work-life balance? “I have learnt to prioritise and Samyukta is a very understanding.” While the wife manages the home front when he is busy, when he has time he makes sure to pamper her to the hilt. “Together times are the best!
