Rohtak, January 21

Resentful over his parents refusal to take him to Mumbai, a Class VII student fabricated a story of his abduction in which he presented his parents as his kidnappers before the police.

The boy, who was found in a local colony, told the police that he belonged to Mumbai, from where he had been kidnapped and brought to Rohtak by train. Stating that he had somehow managed to escape his kidnappers, the boy asked the police to send him to his parents in Mumbai.

When the police contacted their counterparts in Mumbai, it was found that no such case had been reported.

The police got suspicious and put details of the boy on the social media. Soon, it was found that the boy belonged to Rohtak and his parents taught at different institutes. The parents said he suffered from some an illness. — TNS
