In order to apply for Bachelor’s Courses in Fine Arts, the candidate must have passed their higher secondary education (10+2) and have a creative streak. The first year involves introduction to broader fields like aesthetics and  application of design and art. The remaining two or three years of a particular course are devoted to the specialised fields opted by the students. Some of the courses which are presently being offered in India in Fine Arts include 

  • International program in Visual Arts 
  • Diploma in painting, textile design and photography 
  • Advanced diploma in fashion design 
  • Diploma and certificate course in computer graphics 
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts 

Career prospects

Graduates from this field get the choice of joining software companies, publishing houses, art studios, freelancing, etc. A majority of graduates are self-employed. One can join creative departments of advertising agencies, magazines, newspapers in the publishing industry or the textile industry. Electronic media, films and theatre are other options.
