Accused of raping his daughter, a resident of Maloya, today broke down in court while recording his statements.

The accused said that he was being falsely implicated in the case because he did not approve of his daughter’s affair with one of the boys from the college.

He said he was worried about the future of his four other childen as he was the only breadwinner of the family.

He stated that he saw his daughter near the Sector 42 lake with some boy at a secluded place. She was brought home and she was scolded at.

After tension at home, the girl approached the police and stated that I had raped her, he said.

He added that he was the only breadwinner of the family.

However, in her statement before the court, the complainant, who is the 21-year-old daughter of the victim, alleged that she was raped when she was 11 and later her father kept luring her.

She had alleged in the complaint that on the day of the incident, she was taken to a forest area in Badheri from where she managed to escape.
