Jammu, April 25
The J&K Temporary Teachers Association today called off its 43-day-long hunger strike following the state government’s assurance that their issues would be seriously looked into.
“We have decided to call off our hunger strike following Education Minister and Finance Minister’s assurance. We are hopeful that the government would look into our issues sympathetically,” Balwinder Singh, state president of the association told reporters here.
He said we would wait for the next 10 days after reopening of Durbar offices and if our demands were not met by then, we would resume our agitation. — TNS
