Tehsildar inspects markets in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Tehsildar, South Srinagar, Sanam Mansoor today conducted checks at the commercial hub of Lal Chowk and its adjoining localities and recovered a fine of over Rs 11,550 from the offenders.

Tehsildar, South Srinagar, Sanam Mansoor today conducted checks at the commercial hub of Lal Chowk and its adjoining localities and recovered a fine of over Rs 11,550 from the offenders.

A joint team of the Revenue, Legal Metrology, and Drug and Food Control Departments, led by the Tehsildar, conducted checking at Lal Chowk, Sarai Bala, Maharaja Bazaar, a statement issued here said.

“A fine of Rs 11,550 was recovered from the erring shopkeepers,” it said.

Officials destroyed the rotten vegetables on the spot.

Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone has directed all tehsildars to continue the drive on a daily basis and ensure that there was no profiteering and black-marketing.
