Jhajjar, April 26

HPCC chief Ashok Tanwar today joined the dharna being staged in Bahadurgarh by the SC families whose houses at Sant Ravi Dass Colony in Sector 9A were demolished by HUDA over a week ago.

Tanwar served a one-week ultimatum on the state government for providing land to the SC families for their rehabilitation or Congress workers would block roads in Bahadurgarh. Notably, the SC families have been living in the open at the same place since the demolition of their houses. Vijay Rathi, Estate Officer, HUDA, said the families had encroached upon HUDA land and their houses were razed by adopting a legal procedure. —TNS
