A large number of people are arriving at the Chaman Rai District Hospital for the HINI virus test after more than 12 cases of swine flu come to light in the district in the past few weeks.

A woman diagnosed with swine flu is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Dr Sandeep Nigam, in charge nodal officer for swine flu prevention and management, said a large number of persons were arriving at the hospital every day for the swine flu test.

“We have pitched in additional medical staff. Persons with symptoms of high fever, cold, and cough queued up at the hospital since early morning for the swine flu test.

More than 60 persons suffering from viral fever arrived in the afternoon, while 12 odd persons were already waiting for the test,” said Dr Nigam.

He added that the health condition of a 55-year-old woman from Haridwar, who was diagnosed with swine flu, was being monitored.

Another patient, a resident of Gaindikhata village, undergoing treatment at the district hospital was also showing signs of improvement, Dr Nigam added.
