The BJP believes in the policy of divide and rule. It is habitual to spreading communal violence and hatred among communities for its political benefits. This was stated by senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala while addressing a huge gathering of during a Sadbhavna programme held at the Punjabi Dharamshala in Jagadhri today.

“The violence during the Jat stir was orchestrated by the state BJP government to divert the attention of the people from the humiliating defeat received by it in the PRI elections,” he said.

Claiming people had lost faith in the BJP government at the Center and in the state, Surjewala said no development work had taken place, unemployment increased and the public felt cheated.

Terming the state government as anti-farmer, he said, “The state government failed to provide financial help to the private sugar mills of the state. As a result of which, the cane payment to the farmers has been delayed.”
