Supporters of Mann, Majithia in twitter war over drug issue

CHANDIGARH: With the drug menace continuing to be a hot topic ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections due in 2017, a twitter war between the supporters of two main political parties over the issue trended on the microblogging site on Monday.

With the drug menace continuing to be a hot topic ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections due in 2017, a twitter war between the supporters of two main political parties over the issue trended on the microblogging site on Monday.

The supporters of Aam Aadmi Party MP from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann and Akali Minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia slugged it out on twitter with accusations flying thick and fast.

According to the Twitter ‘trends’, with around 21,300 tweets — and counting — #BhagwantMannDrugAddict was the top trend in India till 8.30 pm, followed by #DrugSupplierMajithia with 10,600 tweets.

Expelled Congress leader Jagmeet Brar also joined in with a tweet: #drugsuppliermajithia and @officeofssbadal TRAITORS OF PUNJAB & DISEASE OF A GENERATION - JUSTICE IS COMING 2017.
