Mohali, April 10

The Mohali police and health department have been receiving encouraging response, particularly from women, during the drug awareness campaigns organised in the rural area of the district.

Talking to Chandigarh Tribune, Mohali, SSP, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said a number of women met him during the special drug awareness campaign at Kandala and Bakarpur villages, to lend a helping hand to make drug-free Punjab.

“The women of the area evinced a lot of interest in our campaign and promised me that they will help in every way to make the campaign successful. Women asked me for telephone numbers of senior police officials and promised to provide information about activities of anti-social people, especially drug peddlers and drug addicts,” said SSP Bhullar.

“Women are the worst sufferers if somebody starts taking drug in their family. I ensure them that their names will be kept secret by all means and no policemen will visit them to inquire further, if they give us call,” said SSP Bhullar.
