The state government has directed all District Transport Officers to submit status report on school buses plying in their respective districts, within 15 days.

Addressing a meeting of the members of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Chairman Sukesh Kalia said the DTOs had been directed to present complete record about school buses, including fitness certificates, registration certificates, drivers’ licence numbers and details about conductors, to the commission. Kalia said strict action would be taken against the transport officers not submitting these details in 15 days.
