Chandigarh, April 25

Haryana is poised to become the first state to invite all Twitter and Facebook users to interact with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and contribute towards improving various services being provided by different departments, said Dr Rakesh Gupta, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, at a workshop on Social Media Grievance Redress Mechanism at Panchkula, near here, today.

Addressing the nodal officers, Dr Gupta said Haryana would launch an integrated Social Media Grievances Tracker - Twitter and Facebook for faster and real-time redress of grievances pertaining to different departments, on May 15. The online grievance redress mechanism was being set up to identify and resolve all relevant short-term complaints being sent to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) or the government through social media.

He said several state governments were using social media, but Haryana was the first one to use a technical platform to monitor all grievances received by the Chief Minister on his Twitter handle, Facebook and e-mail.

The tracker would be operational at the CM’s secretariat under overall supervision of state-level nodal officer whereas City Magistrates would be nodal officers at the district level. All nodal officers would have to create their own official ID to reach out to the citizens with real-time solutions.
