State’s biggest hatchery set up in Fatehgarh Sahib

To give a fillip to the pisciculture, the new state-of-the-art hatchery with 51 ponds has been set up on 32 acres at Bagrhian village in the district. The state’s biggest hatchery would supply superior fish seeds to all the districts of the state, said Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, Deputy Commissioner.

He said Chief Minister PS Badal was keen to develop pisciculture to improve the economic condition of the farmers. He said the government provided 50 per cent subsidy for fish farming. He said 1,070 acres were being utilised for fish farming. — TNS
