A team of doctors at Haryana Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) in Kaithal removed a 3.5-kg tumour from a woman’s ovary after the operation today.

Mindro Devi of Garhi village was admitted to the hospital after she complained of severe pain in her abdomen. After conducting an X-Ray and other relevant tests, the doctors detected the tumour in her ovary.

HIMS director Dr JK Sharma said Dr Ashok Sharma and Dr Santosh Aggarwal operated upon the patient who was recovering well. He said the hospital administration was already operating a free bus service for the patients and had made arrangements to pick and drop patients from surrounding areas.
