Chandigarh, October 25

Getting property registered will soon become easier as the UT Sub-Registrar’s office is ready with a new system of online appointment for residents.

Under the new system, all records of properties have been linked with the Estate Office records.

The new software will help people book an appointment on the day of their convenience, which should be  a working day, for registration.

The trial run of the project was conducted successfully today   before Dinesh Singh, Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Government of India.

At present, residents have to visit the office of the Sub-Registrar   and wait for their turn for registration.  An officer said the average time taken for a document registration would also be reduced once the new system   was introduced. The new software will enable people to furnish pre-registration details online at the time of booking their slots.

This will help people avoid any errors in the registration documents. The details can be verified again at the time of the registration.

An officer said the trial run of the  system had been conducted and  appointment would be started this year.

People will have to seek an online appointment and will be given a time slot in which they will have to come up with all necessary documents to get their property registered.

Dinesh Singh later visited Khuda Lahora where the  Estate Office  has started a project of linking properties with Aadhaar cards.

He also reviewed the conclusive titling  programme of the Administration. Chandigarh will be the first city in the country where the Centre will introduce the Conclusive Titling regime. UT Adviser Parimal Rai and Deputy  Commissioner  Ajit Balaji Joshi were  among those present on the  occasion.
