Even though the linking of Aadhaar cards with the bank accounts of pensioners is in full swing in the state, the process is slowest in Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Kavita Jain’s own constituency, Sonepat. As per the department’s website, out of the total 1.35 lakh accounts, only 99,873 have been linked with Aadhaar cards so far.

Apart from Sonepat, several other districts are yet to accomplish full linkage of Aadhaar cards with pension accounts. Out of the total 23.17 lakh accounts, only 21.28 lakh have been linked with Aadhaar cards.

Panipat tops the list with 93,278 Aadhaar cards linked out of the total 95,498. Jind comes second where 1.44 lakh Aadhaar cards have been linked out of the total of 1.46 lakh. Panchkula stood third where 32,244 Aadhaar cards have been linked out of the total of 32,665.
