Maths is a very important subject, be it for competitive exams or for Board exams. This subject needs a lot of practice, so that the student can cover all the varieties of problems posed in the exam paper. Let's understand the subject from the Board exam point of view and formulate the best strategy to prepare for the same.   

Questions based on understanding skills are asked from chapters like Vectors, 3D, Matrices and Determinants. Vectors & 3D are the chapters which help all the students to score good marks easily.  The chapters of Inverse Trigonometry and Continuity and Differentiability cover the evaluation part. Calculus is the most important area in the board exam as it carries 44 marks out of 100. The Application part mainly consists of chapters like Application of Derivatives, Application of Integrals and Differential Equation etc. Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions are predominantly asked from Integration and Probability. Questions based on remembering skills are asked from chapters such as Relations & Functions and Linear Programming.

It is advised to study for the maths Board exam with a proper plan. With a strong and well-defined strategy you can score maximum marks and also manage your time well in the examination hall. 

You can improve your question-solving skills by practicing a lot of problems under each category. This can be done by solving the previous year exams under the stipulated time. 

While solving problems of calculus and algebra, always mention which particular property you have used. Definite Integration and Inverse of a Matrix are the areas which require a lot of practice. For scoring marks in Vectors & 3D, you need to be thoroughly clear about the concepts. For problems of probability, the way you present your answer is very important. 

Regarding the formulae, you can prepare flash cards, and keep revising with them daily. The key to complete the examination within the given time is to never spend too much time on one particular problem. Maintain a healthy pace from the beginning itself. There are some standard types of problems which appear in the examination every year. So, you need to master them so that you can solve them with ease and pocket the marks.  

Keep a positive attitude all the time and plan your revision properly by analyzing your strong and weak areas. Following these strategies will help you score well in the upcoming Maths Board paper.
