CHANDIGARH: Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal, Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, today notified the constitution of 13 different committees for the legislative work for 2016-17.

Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal, Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, today notified the constitution of 13 different committees for the legislative work for 2016-17.

An official spokesman of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha said, “Aruna Chaudhary has been named chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee, Harpreet Singh chairman of the Committee on Public Undertakings, Pargat Singh chairman of the Committee on Estimates, SR Kaler chairman of the Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, Deputy Speaker Dinesh Singh as chairman, House Committee, Sarwan Singh Phillaur chairman of the Committee on Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions, Ashwani Kumar Sharma as chairman of the Government Assurance Committee, Justice Nirmal Singh as chairman of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation, Manoranjan Kalia as chairman of the Committee on Petitions, Balbir Singh Sidhu chairman, Committee on Paper Laid/to be Laid on the Table of the House, Darshan Singh Kotfatta as chairman, Library Committee, Manpreet Singh Ayali as chairman of the Committee on Questions and References and Bibi Jagir Kaur as chairperson of the Committee of Privileges. — TNS
