Sirsa beat Hisar, Kurukshetra defeat P’kula in T-20 league

A fine bowling performance by Sirsa Warriors saw them register a 66-run victory over Hisar Bulls in the Haryana Swarna Jayanti Cricket T-20 League at the Sector 16 cricket stadium here today. Defending 140 runs, Sirsa bowled out Hisar for 74 runs. Off-spinner Shiva Yadav claimed 4/12 to lead the attack while Manoj Dagar and Naved Husain claimed two wickets each. Earlier, after electing to bat first, Sirsa posted 140 runs in 19.4 overs. Shiva Yadav (31 off 30 balls, studded with five boundaries) and Syed Saif (30 off 24 balls, with one boundary and three sixes) helped Sirsa get a competitive score. Sarul Kanwar (19), Manoj Dagar (14) and Kapil Kumar (14) also contributed. For the bowling side, Devinder Singh, Aparval Yadav and Haramvir Singh claimed two wickets each.

In the second match, Kurukshetra Tigers defeated Panchkula Kings by 14 runs. After electing to bat first, Tigers scored 130 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Pardeep (35), Prabhnor Bhalla (33) and Nipun Gupta (20) made the major contributions. Rupesh Rahti claimed 3/6 for Panchkula Kings, while Saurav Srivastva and Pardeep Tanwar took two wickets each. In reply, Panchkula were bowled out for 120 runs with Rupesh Rathi scoring 67 runs and Rahul Khattar scoring 29 runs. Anesh Ahmed claimed 4/30, while Naveen Baloda, Rahul Chaudhary claimed two wickets each.

CCA Punjab beat Haryana 

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Cricket Association (affiliated to Punjab) beat Chandigarh Cricket Association (affiliated to Haryana) by eight wickets in the Anthem Cricket U-13 Cup at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, here today. 

After electing to bat first, the Haryana team could manage just 116 runs in 37.4 overs. Struggling at 40/6 in 17 overs, Haryana’s innings was stabilised by Sarabjeet (30) and Shivansh (24). The duo was involved in a 48-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Sahil (2/23) and Prince Dhaiya (2/18) claimed two wickets each. In reply, the Punjab team lost two wickets for 30 runs but Jashan Beniwal (51) and Rajvir Singh (27) helped the side chase the target in 28.3 overs.
