New Delhi, November 8

Senior Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde today met Haryana leaders Kumari Selja and Randeep Singh Surjewala in connection with state party chief Ashok Tanwar’s manhandling.

Selja and Surjewala are learnt to have told Shinde that they were not present at the site of clashes between supporters of Tanwar and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on October 6 and were not in a position to comment.

Shinde was waiting for testimonials of Selja and Surjewala before concluding his investigation into the matter after all other senior leaders, including party MLAs from the state, have said what they had to say.

Pro-Hooda MLAs used the occasion to question the leadership of Tanwar and Congress Legislature Party Leader Kiran Choudhry and demand leadershiop change in Haryana. Shinde is not likely to comment on the leadership issue in his report which is expected to be submitted soon.
