Shiksha Acharya and Anudeshaks held a demonstration demanding their appointment in government schools. The protesters said they were given false assurance that their demands would be met soon.

The agitating Shiksha Acharya under the aegis of the Shiksha Acharya and Anudeshak Union gathered at the Raipur bus stand. They were arrested at the rally ground before their rally in front of Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s residence.

The protesters were released in the evening. They said the state government did not pay any heed to their pending demands in the Cabinet meeting held on Sunday.

Devendra Singh Bisht, state president, Shiksha Acharya and Anudeshak Union, said a memorandum highlighting their demands was submitted to government officials and public representatives several times, but to no avail. He said the members would intensify their agitation in case the government did not accede to their demands.

Parwinder Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Reema Rawat, Shamshad Ali, Laxmi, Ramkrishan Mamgain, Sumit, Alka Kothari and Khem Singh were present during the protest.
