SGPC to set up three centres at Majha, Malwa and Doaba

The Shromini Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee shall now set up three centres in Majha, Doaba and Malwa region to scrutinise the authenticity of the borrower before the holy bir of Guru Granth Sahib is borrowed,” shared SGPC President Kirpal Singh Badungar in the meeting of the executive committee, held at Gurudwara Katana Sahib, here today.

He took a serious note of the desecrations in the meeting, with the help of the sikh sangat. He said there is a need to take initiative to teach people the sanctity of the holy bir and the respect and devotion they need to show towards it .

He encouraged the members of the SGPC to personally supervise so that no such heinous act is committed.

He also said that a total of 250 saroop of Guru Granth Sahib shall be sent to Canada on demand. Pictures of Prof Piara Singh Padam, Shaheed Bhai Gurdev Singh Kaunke and Bhai Harminder Singh would be installed in the Central Sikh Ajaib Ghar at Golden Temple.

The salary of chief secretary Harcharan Singh was reduced fromRs 3 lakh to Rs 1 lakh on demand.
