CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Vidhan Sabha today paid tributes to prominent personalities who have expired between the period from the end of the previous session and the beginning of the current Winter Session, which commenced here today.

The Haryana Vidhan Sabha today paid tributes to prominent personalities who have expired between the period from the end of the previous session and the beginning of the current Winter Session, which commenced here today. The members of the House also observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who is also the Leader of the House, paid tributes to Chaudhary Ran Singh, former minister of Haryana, Kailash Chand Sharma, former deputy chairman of Haryana State Planning Board, Meena Mandal, former Minister of State. Ashok Singhal, former international working president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), freedom fighters and martyrs of the state, who sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kanwar Pal also read out obituary resolutions and paid tribute to the departed souls. Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Kiran Chaudhary and Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, INLD MLA, also read obituary resolutions on the behalf of their parties.

The freedom fighters who have been paid homage in the House are Chhaju Ram of Sahjawas village, Gurgaon, Jaimal Singh of Sidhrawali village, Gurgaon and Narsingh Das Arora of Shahbad district, Kurukshetra.

The House also paid homage to martyrs of the state who have showed indomitable courage and sacrificed their lives while safeguarding and protecting the unity and integrity of the country. They included Major Dhruv Yadav, Gurgaon; Assistant Sub-Inspector Dalip Kumar of Deroli Ahir village, Mahendragarh; Subedar Suresh Kumar of Ramalwas village, Bhiwani; Havildar Ramesh Kumar of Kharkharawas village, Mahendragarh; Naik Bijender Kumar of Mastapur village, Rewari; Lance Naik Deepak Kumar of Jhanda village, Yamunanagar; Lance Naik Heera Singh of Gothra village, Bhiwani; Lance Naik Sandeep Kumar of Khaleta village, Rewari; Lance Naik Sagar Singh of Kheri village, Mahendragarh; leading seaman Sukhdev Singh of Kanhri village, Fatehabad; Sepoy Ramkumar of Beri village, Jhajjar; Sepoy Mahesh Kumar of Missri village, Bhiwani; and Sepoy Dayanand of Sorkhi village, Hisar.

The House also paid tributes to nine persons who lost their lives in two cylinder blasts in Himshikha Colony, Pinjore, on November 10 among others.
