Seminar highlights teachings of Sufi saint

The Centre for Research and Development Policy in collaboration with the Kashmir Progressive Writers Guild and the Holy Home Educational Establishment organised a day-long seminar on “Revisiting Shaikh-ul-Alam” at the town hall in Charar-i-Sharief, Budgam, on Wednesday.

Prof MA Wani delivered the key-note address while Gulshan Majeed, Farooq Fayaz, Shad Ramzan, Basher Bashir, Maroof Shah, Muzaffer Haji and GN Adfer presented papers on different themes.

Mohammad Amin Bhat moderated the inaugural session.

Welcoming the guests, Director, Centre for Research and Development Policy, Peer GN Suhail emphasised the importance of holding such a seminar. He also highlighted the activities of the organisation.

“Teachings of Hazrat Noor-ud-Din should not be confined to literature only. They need to be used in the other disciplines like political science, economics, sociology and environmental sciences as well,” he said.

Prof MA Wani emphasised the need to have a relook at the “Shaikh Shruks (teachings)”.
