Schools celebrate republic day

CHANDIGARH: Bhavan Vidyalaya (Sec 27-B, Chandigarh): The 68th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and gaiety in the school.

Bhavan Vidyalaya (Sec 27-B, Chandigarh)

The 68th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and gaiety in the school. The celebrations commenced with the customary unfurling of the national flag followed by the National Anthem. The school choir chanted the ‘gayatri mantra’and a vibrant rhythmic drill by the students of Class VIII enthralled the audience. The new school cabinet was inducted on the occasion followed by an award ceremony wherein students were felicitated for their achievements in various fields. 

Carmel Convent School (Chandigarh)

The school celebrated the occasion with patriotic songs and cultural dances performed energetically by the students.

Ryan International School (Chandigarh)  

The school organised a series of activities on the4 occasion. Students pledged their allegiance to the flag and promised to carry their nation to greater heights and achieve success in various walks of life. The talk show on ‘digitalisation’ was an eye opener for everyone. 

Guru Nanak Public School (Sec 36, Chandigarh)

The school witnessed impressive parade by girls and boys of the NCC contingent. The principal in urged the students to maintain the dignity and glory of the country by working together to eradicate all social evils.

Govt Model Sr Sec School (Sec 20-D, Chandigarh)

A colourful cultural program was presented by the students. Patriotic songs and dances were presented by the students and teachers to mark the occasion. Vice-principal Neelam Jain inspired by students by sharing the sacrifices of the martyrs. 

St Joseph’s Sr Sec School (Sec 44-D, Chandigarh) 

The school echoed with patriotic fervour as the school premises was adorned in the hues of the tri-colour with buntings of kites and lamps. Principal Monica Chawla in her address motivated the students to be the harbingers of a social change to build a new, better and strong India. 

Delhi Public School (Chandigarh) 

The highlight of the day was the soulful rendition of ‘Hum Veer Sipahi Hai’ wherein the school choir paid a tribute to our brave soldiers. The school vice-head girl in her speech talked about the significance of the day. 

PML SD Public School (Sec 32, Chandigarh)

A colourful cultural programme presented by the school students added a festive spirit to the occasion. The vibrant show commenced with melodious patriotic group song ‘Sare Jahan Se aacha’. The primary wing of the school staged a play women empowerment through literacy enlightening the audience its relevance. 

Mount Carmel School (Sec 47-B, Chandigarh)

The programme for the day comprised of patriotic songs by the school choir and speeches on R-Day by students of the school. Some students spoke on the lives of various freedom fighters.

CRB Public School (Sec 7-B, Chandigarh)

Patriotic songs, poems and speeches narrated by students filled the atmosphere with fervour and concern for their country. Sweets were distributed to all the students after the celebration.

Joyland Montessori School (Sec 38-C, Chandigarh)

The whole school echoed with patriotic flavour as small children enacted great freedom fighters. The students set the stage on fire with patriotic song ‘Rang de Basanti’. 

Satluj Public School (Sec 2 & 4, Panchkula)

The celebrations began with a special assembly during which various cultural items were presented by the students. Students were awarded with certificates. The girls of senior wing also participated in the state-level Republic Day programme in Parade Ground, Sector 5, Panchkula.

St Xavier’s High School (Sec 20, Panchkula)

A special assembly was organised to make the students aware about the importance of this day and the Constitution of the country. A quiz was organised to check the knowledge of the children about the constitution and its formation.

Apna Shabadh Pre-School (Zirakpur)

Republic day was celebrated with fervour at Apna Shabadh Pre-School and Day Care, Zirakpur here. Children came in various freedom fighters’ attires and had lots of fun. They sang and danced on patriotic songs. 

Govt Model High School (Sec 38-D, Chandigarh) 

A quiz, declamation contest and poem recitations on the freedom struggle and national heroes were also held on the occasion. A group song competition on the theme of love for motherland was also organised. Meanwhile, the day was also celebrated at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Mani Majra, Government High School, Sector 40-A, Chandigarh, Government Model High School, Sector 26, Chandigarh, Government Model High School, Sector 29-A, Chandigarh, Government Model High School, Pocket No 1, Mani Majra, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19-C, Chandigarh, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-39, Chandigarh.

Mount Carmel School (Sec 69, Mohali)

Various competitions like card making, clay modelling, flag making and slogan writing were held for the students of classes I to X. The programme ended with a patriotic dance and the National Anthem.

Shishu Niketan Public School (Sec 5, Panchkula)

The school echoed with patriotic songs like ‘Jahan Dal Dal Par Sone Ki Chirriya’, ‘Hind Desh Ke’ as there was a patriotic song competition for classes I to III. 

Tribune Model School (Chandigarh)

Republic Day was marked by patriotic fervour with the entire fraternity of the school booming into the song ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha..’. The social science department fulfilled its pledge to the country tracing the history of Indian Constitution, along with the flavour of key words such as justice, equality, liberty, republic, democratic and secular.  Principal Vandana Saxena motivated the students to initiate the change they wish to bring with a sense of responsibility and awareness towards their rights. — TNS
