Dehradun, April 20
Uttarakhand Minister for Tourism Satpal Maharaj has demanded central assistance for developing Uttarakhand as a world class Tourism destination in the country.
During his meeting with Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma in New Delhi, Maharaj apprised him of his plans to develop new pilgrimage dedicated to Ma Bhagwati, and develop the temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in Panchkedar, Jageshwar temple and other pilgrimage circuits. He told The Tribune that these newer circuits would help in bringing more tourists. “My talks with the Union Minister were fruitful and he has agreed to provide Uttarakhand much-needed financial help,” he said. — TNS
