Jammu, December 19

Congress leader and sitting MLA from Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today sought support for the Congress candidates from the Billawar, Basohli, Kathua and Raipur Domana constituencies.

In a statement issued here today, Saroori called upon the people to strengthen the bonds of amity and brotherhood for the overall development of the state and urged them to vote for the Congress candidates.

Asserting that the BJP is not in a position to form the government in J&K, he said: “People of the country gave a decisive mandate to the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections to perform at the national level.”

Saroori said in J&K, the people in the ongoing elections had made up their mind to give the Congress a decisive mandate.

He further said the Congress, led by Ghulam Nabi Azad, had proved in two and a half years of his tenure how to provide good governance to the people.

The Congress leader said the BJP was talking in different voices on Article 370 that grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the party avoided making a direct statement on the issue during the Assembly elections.
