PU thrash Faridabad varsity

Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, mowed down MR International University, Faridabad (6-0), on the sixth day of the North Zone Inter-University Football (Men) Championship, being organised by the PU, here, today.

Tejinder scored two goals in the 4th and 14th minutes while Saurav scored two goals in the 39th and 51st minutes. Arjun scored one goal in the 63rd minute and Navjot scored one goal in the 77th minute that lead the PU to victory.

In another match, Guru Jambeshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, beat Thapar University, Patiala, 4-0. Hisar university's Ashish Jaglan scored two goals in the 21st and 46th minutes while Utkarsh scored two goals in the 40th and 43rd minutes.

Players of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, beat Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh 4-0. GNDU player Rajbir Singh scored two goals in the 25th and 45th minutes, Azhar Ahmend scored one goal in the 35th minute and Harkanwardeep Singh scored another goal in the 84th minute.

The Aligarh Muslim University failed to open its account in the match.

CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, defeated the CSJM University, Kanpur (2-1). For the HAU Hisar, Ajay and Yugvinder scored one goal each in the 4th and 21st minutes, respectively.

Avinash Gupta scored a goal in the 6th minute of the match for the CSJM Kanpur.

Kashmir University, Srinagar, defeated Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, 3-1 in the fifth match. Aakit from the winning side scored one goal in the 48th minute, Wasiq scored a goal in the 58th minute and S Rasool scored another one in the 69th minute while it was Atul from the HPU, Shimla, who scored a goal in the 12th minute of the play.

Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara, beat Allahabad University, Allahabad, 3-0.

Players from LPU, Sarthak, Tenteal and Lovekesh, scored one goal each in the 10th, 26th and 66th minutes, respectively.
