Saints at Rameshwar ashram have demanded concrete steps for cow conservation urging government to make stringent laws in this regard.

At a meeting held here today at Rameshwar ashram, presided by Maha Mandaleshwar Rameshwaranand Saraswati, saints pointed out that cow was regarded as a deity in India so its protection was a must.

Swami Rameshwaranand Saraswati, who is founder of Rameshwar ashram, said irrespective or religion, caste, creed and colour, cow provides milk through which health and livelihood is attained by billions, so giving due respect to it brings blessing.

Urging people to live with communal harmony, brotherhood and mutual love, Swami Rameshwaranand Saraswati said for ages, this country had been an ideal example of people of different sects and religion living with peace so its responsibility of each and every citizen to respect each other’s religious sentiments.

Pt Acharya Kishan Adhikari,Pt Jagdeesh Chandra ,Pt Ramesh Shastri and Pt Prem Raj Shastri said that worshipping cow and maintaining sanctity and purity of the sacred Ganga provides spiritual and material bliss to the devotee, as its equivalent to worshipping almighty.
